Hurricane?
So last weekend we got hit by a storm. No one we know had any warning and it hit us fast and hard. I thought it was a hurricane and our windows were vibrating. Power lines came down everywhere and lots of trees. We only lost power for 2 days but we were told it would be a week. When we lost power there was no internet, no lights, no refrigeration, we lost cell phone coverage, and no hot water. Luckily we have lots of friends from church who helped us, we found someone to stay with who had electricity and room in the fridge and freezer. It was really nice because it is very hot here, and muggy. A lot of major traffic lights are either being manned by the police or converted to a four way. We feel very lucky to have been safe and have comfort during the storm. Hugh thought this whole thing was a game and he handled it very well, though I did not as much.

Nursery--Not a bug bite
Hugh goes to Nursery during church on Sunday. This week he did so much better, not but crying and screaming when John David left. We did find this at the end of church though, I no I am not too concerned another kid bit Hugh because I am sure Hugh defended himself back.

Hugh Update
Hugh is doing well, he is gaining weight slowly but surely which is good, he is getting tall, he is very cheeky, too smart and into everything. He got immunizations and this time he didn't cry at all which surprised me, I am not sure why but he was fine. Maybe because we took a blanket and his kiki--monkey, to the doctor this time.
Dentist
Hugh went to the dentist for the second time. They always give him nice toys and I took his monkey and blanket to help him. Now Hugh actually will let us floss his teeth with a cool tool they gave us and brush his teeth without too much screaming.

Ticks and Chiggers
Hugh as been bitten by two ticks now and chiggers. Not my favorite. We just have to watch for Lyme disease with the tick bites. No pictures too gross.

Virginia

So I have actually driven through Virginia 4 times but this last month we actually stopped to visit friends and such. We went to Front Royal VA, Centreville Va (where we wanted to move originally), Chantilly Va--near Bull Run but we didn't realize and weren't able to stop, Sterling VA, and by Great Falls. Virginia is not Maryland. But its a nice change, not as hectic and a lot more scenic.

Out with the old and in with the new

So I haven't cut my hair in over a year for a few reasons: we moved and I didn't know where to cut it, having it long again grew on me, I decided to donate it to locks of love (for cancer patients, the foundation makes wigs). The last time I did this was in high school and my hair was much longer that time.

Final-ly Over!
We survived John David's finals which was intense. In the last week he had a 10 page essay due in 24 hours, a few days later a 15 page final, and lastly a collection of essays that was 20 pages. Hugh has missed his dada so much which has been really hard because he didn't understand why he couldn't see him. I am glad John David will get more than 4 hours of sleep now. One night I asked him to come to bed at 4 am. But we all survived.
